Coco's flying back to her birth home...

I got a call from ML last night...the big blue Sherwood boys where stalking and being aggressive to Coco and she had become fearful and jumpy, and crying when she was separated from ML.

Although it's only been two weeks, and things might improve with some more time, ML and Charley and Auntie Deb made the decision that for Coco's happiness, it would be best to fly her back home to me.

I have had it take over 3 months for a new adult cat to settle into it's new home, but also know that the Sherwood's know their cats and if they feel that they will never let Coco into the "tribe" then yes, it's best she come back home to me so she can settle back into her life here with the least amount of stress on her.

I am sad, as I know how much Coco Charlize added to their life, and like ML and Charley and Deb said, they so enjoyed the two weeks of loving and snuggling they had with Coco...and maybe sometime in the future, there could be a Furrydance kitten in their life? Adult cats are more amenable to letting a kitten into their midst than an adult cat and so, we will see what the future brings.

So, today at 3:30pm, I will head to the airport and pick Coco up, not as much fanfare as with her arrival in Texas, but I will be happy to see her again, get her settled into the guest bedroom so she can acclimate back into the cat family slowly again, give her time to rest and nap and get used to her cat friends here again in her own time.

And Auntie Deb said when she gets back home again, she will come and visit all the Furrydance cats, and who knows...maybe the Taylor cats would like a Cornish Rex in their home?? ML said she likes the thought of that!

Fashion Friday??

This is Furrydance Sid, and we think this makes a good Halloween costume...

He's dressed as a Jawa from Star Wars...

see the resemblance?

or maybe he's Obi Wan Kenobi?

or maybe he's just a Cornish Rex wanting to burrow in a blankie and be warm!

Frootbat Friday

Thankful Thursday

Mewmie came home from work today, sayin' she stopped at PetSmart and was looking for these little springy toys we like, but they didn't have any. But when she came back inside from going to the mailbox, she had a box in her hands and she said "Hey kitties, Finny sent you all a Paw It Forward box!"

She ran and got her camera (cuz the last time we got a PIF box, she just let us dig in and forgot to take any pictures!) and set the box down on the living room floor. We sniffed and sniffed it. She opened the card next, and she told us that was the polite thing to do when you got a present, to read the card first. It was cute, with a cat on the front about as fat as Disco, with lots of treats and candy round him. We felt like we had been trick or treating with the wonderful treats that Fin and Meg sent us!

Then she opened it and we stuck our heads inside the box and did more sniffin! Inside were some of the very toys that mewmie had been eyeing at PetSmart! Kitten sized Kickeroos (that krackle when you put the bitey on them), a box of Super Catnip which mewmie opened up and sprinkled round our treats, many balls with bells in them (they will be fun to bat around the wood floors!) and a green tinsel ball (which Kiki found and ran off with!), a bag full of mice and balls of all sorts (like a motherlode of prizes!) and even some milk jug caps and rings (which Disco grabbed and ran up the stairs with his favorite white one.

Mewmie wants to thank Fin and Meg for such a box full of fun for all us Furrydance cats (and yes, the kittens are still here and got to enjoy the pressies, too--they go off to their new homes on Saturday).

So, to keep this Paw It Forward fun going, we will start shopping and make up a package of delites for the very first kitty that posts a comment saying "Me, Me, Me...Pleeze, Pleeze, Pleeze.

Coco is moving to Texas!

Coco's movin' to Texas, so she's got to have a Big Texas name, and ML & Deb came up with...Coco Charlize Taylor-Sherwood. We love it!

Mewmie's already gettin' a bit sad, wondering if Coco will fit in, with 5 new kitties, and if their vet is as good with Cornish Rex as the vet she works for, and if Coco will be a good girl there and stop spraying once she is spayed.

But they've talked it over, on the phone a few times today, and if the move for Coco doesn't work out and she's not happy, then ML and Charley will fly her back to us, so mewmie just has to relax and trust that love conquers all and that Coco will settle in to her new home with lots of lap and snuggle time (she doesn't get enough of that here cuz mewmie works so much).

And she knows ML misses that special CRexness in the house and she thinks having Coco around will be "just what the Doctor ordered"...no kidding, the doctor ordered them to get another Cornish Rex to help fill the empty spot that Charlie's passing left.

Fashion Friday!

This is Nani, back in her show cat days about 12 years ago. She is a kitty I bought to be a momcat but she developed HCM (like what Charlie Taylor had) so I spayed her before she had any babies, and she was one of the first cats I ever dressed up.

I have been talking with Charlie's people about them getting another Cornish Rex from me and what would you all think if President Coco went to live with them?

I haven't talked to them about that possibility yet, but I am considering spaying her and letting her retire from mommyhood (umm, she sprays when she is in heat, that's a deciding factor in the decision to spay her, too).

She looks like a feminine version of Charlie Taylor, don't ya think?

Thankful Thursday

...the answer to "who is that in Wordless Wednesday" is Pasha (the ancient one); Percy (the resourceful one) and Brinkley (the delinquent one). They all live in North Carolina with the Campbell family and those 2 young houligans gave Pasha a reason to keep going---he has to rule over them with an iron paw!

The handsome cat in the photo above is Jasper...the cat formerly called Buttercup. He is one of Coco's April kittens and shares the house with his brother Clover (soon to be the cat formerly known as Clover) in historic Alexandria VA with Lisa and James

pssst...I'll tell you who they are tomorrow...

Thankful Thursday

We Furrydance cats are always thankful when a package arrives, even if it isn't for us. We make sure we inspect it because that's more fun than what's inside, sometimes!

This is Furrydance Percy, who lives with the Campbell's in North Carolina, sharing his home with 2 humans, 2 dogs and 2 more Cornish Rex cats!
